The Least Trusted, Courting the Most

The United States has a long history of trust in their military. A recent poll (http://www.gallup.com/poll/1597/confidence-institutions.aspx)  shows that the United States Military is the most trusted institution in the country. This comes as no surprise as the military is composed of citizens who have volunteered to serve. It is also no surprise that Congress, which has the lowest approval rating of any national institution (http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2012/12/03/gallup_trustworthy_poll_congressmen_car_salesman_least_trusted_professions.html), would seek the support of American veterans.
